The focus will be on improving the performance of individual (most often new-in-post Chairs) or the board as a whole, we will look at specific areas with the aim of increasing confidence and improving performance. Areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Getting the most out of you board;

  • Guidance on training in all aspects of governance;

  • Keeping to an agenda;

  • Holding difficult conversations;

  • Help when considering academisation;

  • Writing and delivering on Governor/Trustee Action Plans;

  • Issue resolution - guidance on complaints, grievance and appeals;

  • Appointment of executive leaders;

  • Guidance on the operation of or the restructuring of Maintained, Trust or Local Governing boards.
